Dear Patients,
The British Medical Association (BMA) representing resident doctors have informed the NHS that its members will be taking industrial action beginning at 7am on Friday 25 July until 7am on Wednesday 30 July.
During these strikes, other doctors (including consultants and other specialist doctors) will still be working. However, the disruption to staffing may mean some appointments and procedures may need to be rescheduled.
If you have an appointment, please continue to come forward for the care you need. Please don’t call to check if your appointment is going ahead. You will be contacted directly if your appointment needs to be rearranged.
Our phone lines are likely to be even busier than normal, so please be patient as practice staff try to help as many people as they can. If you have a computer or smartphone, you can use the NHS App or our e-consultation service, which directs your query quickly to the right member of practice staff and helps free up the telephone lines for those who aren’t online.
The NHS is asking patients to choose services appropriately during industrial action and take simple steps to help ensure care is available to patients who need it most. This includes using 111 online as the first port of call for health needs, and as ever only using 999 if it is a serious or life-threatening emergency. For more information on when to call 999 and when to go to A&E, you can visit the NHS UK website.
