Dr Milinda Tennekoon Retirement – Message from Dr Tennekoon

Dr Milinda Tennekoon Retirement

After 28 years as a GP at South Street Surgery Dr Tennekoon will be retiring from the practice.  He has delivered excellent care to our patients and supported them through their journeys over the years.  He has also been a supportive friend and colleague to the staff at the surgery and has trained and developed many young doctors at the start of their careers. 

We know that you will want to join with us in thanking him for all he has done for you and the the practice during his time with us. 

We have placed books at the reception desk at each of our surgeries if you would like to write a personal message. 

We wish him health and happiness for the future.

Dear Patients
It has been a privilege to have been a local GP, and to work in such a vibrant community as it has developed over the years. However after 28 years at the surgery it has come time for me to retire from the Surgery, and from General Practice, at the end of June.
I am very proud to have worked at South Street Surgery, which goes from strength to strength under the current Partners and their outstanding leadership. I have been fortunate to work with colleagues who care deeply for the work they do, and who have always been creative and forward thinking in developing Primary Care for our community.
I will miss the challenge of medicine, and the daily interaction with you, the patients. It has been hugely emotionally and professionally  rewarding.
I would like to thank you all for letting me into your lives, trusting me with your problems and working together to make things better.
It has been an honour to serve as your GP.
