You can request a repeat prescription by either:
The practice a has been issuing prescriptions via the electronic prescription service (EPS) for a while now. As part of the NHS Digital initiatives we are now moving so that the majority of prescriptions will be issued via EPS. This system is more efficient and convenient for patients and staff. We are introducing this from 1 May 2020.
This means that you will not be given a paper prescription but that the prescription will go electronically and then you can collect from your nominated pharmacy. If you do not have a nominated pharmacy you can collect your prescription from any high street pharmacy by giving your NHS number and/or the barcode or token for your prescription. If you are seen in a face-to-face appointment you may be given the paper token which you can hand to the pharmacy.
We would encourage you to select a nominated which we can add to our medical record or you can set via the NHS App. Should they be closed for any reason the practice can send to another pharmacy as a one off.
